Welcome to the North Pole

I joined up with Val and the others to stitch the beautiful "Welcome to the North Pole" quilt.  Have only started stitching the first block, so will have to get myself moving.
Have started with Mr and Mrs Claus' house.
Those little window panes are testing me out, but luckily hasn't put me off. Cheryl

One Xmas Item - February

I am joining Narelle at www.pinsandwhiskers.blogspot.com  for
I am loving an excuse to sew Christmas anytime lol.
These little Christmas lolly baskets were the first project in a monthly Christmas Club I joined this year - not only did I receive the pattern but the fabric to do two little baskets. The lollies have since been eaten I might add.  Cheryl

Amazing What you Find

When you have a clean-up.  Found this recently while on a clean -up campaign of my sewing room -

It was a pattern in, I think, Country Threads magazine from Bronwyn Hayes of Red Brolly from several years ago.
The stitcheries are completed and the top put together, but needs quilting, and I still love it as much as when I stitched it so will finish it off and hang it.

Well must get off the computer and get stitching. End of the month is approaching!  Have a great week Cheryl

Some More Photos from our Mill Rosie Get-Together

A couple more photos I didn't get to show you from our wonderful get-together last Saturday

It was wonderful to meet Barb - we were swap partners in Cheryll's Santa Sack swap last year, and she spoilt me rotten with so many gorgeous gifts.
How gorgeous is my doll keyring that was part of the lovely swap gift I received from Tracee - have her hanging from my handbag.
And just to finish off and make you drool, this was my delicious lunch - smoked salmon, avocado and tomatoes on yummy toasted crispy bread

A Wonderful Day with Mill Rosie Girls

What a wonderful day I had yesterday when I attended the bloggers meet with the Mill Rosie girls.  I had been so looking forward to meeting everyone - many of whose blogs I follow, and it seemed like we were friends already.
The swap was to be something made by Rosalie Quinlan. Here's Shez opening the little stitchery that I stitched and framed.
And Barb showing us her lovely scented hanger - sorry Barb a bit blurry. Was all the excitement.
Melody and girls admiring her cute bag.
How lovely were all the wonderful projects made - not one the same

And this was the beautiful swap gift I received from Tracey. Thankyou so much Tracey . I had the best day thankyou so much girls. Will show you more soon. Cheryl

A Surprise Parcel and Some SALs

This little surprise parcel arrived in the mail for me today, along with a BOM I am doing. Some of the bits for the 1st block were missing when it arrived, which of course didn't matter as I knew I would get them eventually, but this little "sorry" pressie arrived with the next block.
Of course it was not necessary, but how yummy are they?

I also joined Val and the others in  this gorgeous QAL this week "Welcome to the North Pole" - couldn't resist it any longer. Of course pondering so long I am a little bit behind, but have put together some of the fabrics I will be using.
The other one I had been thinking about was Chookys SAL using three of my favorite books "Tis the Season", "Red Home" and "Some Kind of Wonderful"  - so many lovely projects to stitch over the coming months. Luckily after seeing lots of yummy scrap baskets everyone had been stitching from Red Home, I decided to stitch some for myself, so January's is done, but I had better get a wriggle on with the bag - 12 days into February already!!

So three lovely Stitchalongs to keep me busy and the Let's Celebrate swap. And this was going to be a year of finishing some of the BOMs I had started lol.  Cheryl

Autumn Mini

I had been staring at my bare mini stand for several months thinking I must get around to making something to go on it. So today I  had a play around, and seeing summer is nearly over, went with an autumn theme.

I used a bit of a mixture of designs from this Nancy Halvorsen book, so it would fit on the 12" mini. And would love to add a bit of stitchery, so may have a bit more of a play around yet. The book is full of all things autumn.

Friday Night with Friends

Last night I joined in with Cheyll and lots of other lovely friends in

I had seen these cute scrap baskets lots of you had been sewing in Chooky's SAL, which I would have loved to have joined, but was worried about getting myself a bit "snowed under", so thought maybe I would just sew 2 or 3 of my favorites from the list instead.  So as everyone has mentioned it was hard sewing just one of these, so last night I made 4, two in each color.
Have a great weekend. Cheryl
