I Know, I'm Hopeless

With at least 101 projects on the go, you would think that would be plenty, but no, I couldn't resist buying Rosalie Quinlan's beautiful new bom "Simply Blessed" this week -

This photo does not do it justice - it's just beautiful.

The version I bought is printed on beautiful Japanese Hemp.

On the stitching front I have finished another block of "Down Reindeer Lane" from Michelle of Ragtag Stitchin' - I am doing this as part of 1 Xmas Item a Month with Narelle over at Pins and Whiskers -

Think he's had a hard night.

A Lovely Win

I was very lucky and had a lovely win recently over at Christine's blog www.macdonaldspatch.blogspot.com as part of a "Grow Your Blog" party giveaway. Christine and I caught up at the Mill Rosie bloggers meet on Saturday and she presented me with my gorgeous prize -

A very, very cute teddy stitchery - perfect for my new grandson, or my 7 y.o. granddaughter thought I should stitch it for her first, some lovely teddy buttons and a pretty fat quarter. Thankyou Christine for my lovely gifts - I was thrilled.

 

Talking of spoilt, we had a "red" swap at our Mill Rosie bloggers get-together and this was the gorgeous swap gifts I received -

 

 

This lovely  wallhanging made by Rosalie and so beautifully stitched - thankyou Rosalie, I just love it.

 

As well as this gorgeous felt heart (and the Maltesers she included as well are long gone).

My Lovely Christmas Swap Gifts

A very belated  post I know - and my sincerest apologies to Dagmar, my wonderful swap partner in Chookyblues Secret Santa swap for messing this up in an earlier post. I absolutely LOVED my most gorgeous gifts and know how much time and work went into them

This was the beautiful decoration that Dagmar made for me - foundation pieced and just gorgeous.

And my lovely snowman wallhanging. So much beautiful work by Dagmar. I was so touched that she had done so much research on my favourite things and colors - snowmen being amongst my favorites.  Thankyou Dagmar. I love it and will treasure it always and will be a special piece for me to hang each Christmas. Dagmar lives in Germany and has a wonderful blog www.quiltmoose.blogspot.com - call over and see her beautiful work. 

I've Been Trying to Stay Cool

I thought stitching these little guys might help me stay cool, but it hasn't worked. Several 40 degree days in a row is very draining, but finally a very pleasant 30 degree day today -

Think the world's going crazy - hot, hot temperatures in Australia and terrible drought in Queensland and parts of New South Wales, and terrible floods and lots of snow in the U.K. and other parts as well. Love my little "chilly chums", even though they didn't cool me down.

This is their little mate. I don't often stitch in blue, preferring my favourite redwork, but the button set that comes with it is in blues - gorgeous buttons from Just Another Button Company. And I've fallen in love with the blue. Several more blocks to stitch - it is a gorgeous design from Bird Brain Designs called "Snowmen and Reindeers".  Have a great week.  Counting down to our Mill Rosie bloggers get-together next Saturday. A New Man in my Life

I am smitten by this gorgeous new little man in my life - my gorgeous new  grandson who was born yesterday to my baby (well she's 25). Isn't he beautiful -

Lots of nurses and cuddles today when he was awake.

Also had a lovely visit yesterday to Quilters Harvest yesterday, which is a lovely patchwork shop not too far from me, who just happened to be  having a sale. And who can resist a sale -

These two lovely patterns just had to come home with me, even though I was trying very hard to stick to what was on my list.

Lots of Little Dresdens

happening at my place, and I've noticed a few other places as well.

Mine started a couple of weeks ago when I went along to "Summer School" being run by Mrs Martins Quilt Shop.  Now I must admit I knew nothing of Max and Louise Pattern Company, the girls who were our tutors for the day, but their display of quilts was nothing short of amazing, and I had also done very little paper piecing or needleturn applique, but after our day I was in love with both.

These are five of the seven projects that we received patterns for on the day - yummy aren't they?  I bought a kit and started working the Dresden mini, top right.

And these were the other two gorgeous designs.

I don't often work in reproduction fabrics, but loved these.

Now I did have a sneaky peak of some other dresdens I've been working on, but the photo made them look like dirty dish water, so I'll leave that for another time. Cheryl
